With the objective of promoting cross-cultural understanding and multilingual awareness, the Global Citizenship Club of Pillai College of Education and Research initiated German language learning sessions for S.Y.B.Ed. students throughout the Fourth Semester during the morning assembly. The sessions were conducted by Ms. Chaitali Kudmate, Student Editor of the college magazine.
The initiative aimed to encourage student-teachers to appreciate linguistic diversity and understand the importance of global communication in today’s interconnected world. Students were introduced to basic German greetings, polite expressions, numbers, and everyday conversational phrases in an engaging and interactive manner.
What began as an introductory session gradually evolved into a continuous language-learning initiative, where students regularly learned new vocabulary and expressions with great enthusiasm and participation.
The initiative provided students with an enriching opportunity to move beyond their linguistic comfort zones, broaden their cultural perspectives, and strengthen the spirit of global citizenship and international understanding.

As part of its efforts to nurture global perspectives among future educators, the Global Citizenship Club of Pillai College of Education and Research conducted an interactive activity for S.Y.B.Ed. students focused on understanding international curriculum practices through teaching-learning discussions.
The activity aimed to familiarize student-teachers with different global educational approaches and pedagogical practices followed across countries. Discussions were conducted on learner-centred education, experiential learning, inclusive classrooms, skill-based learning, and innovative teaching methodologies adopted in international curricula. Students actively participated by sharing their ideas, comparing educational practices, and reflecting on how global teaching approaches can be adapted within Indian classrooms. The activity encouraged critical thinking, collaborative learning, and openness towards diverse educational perspectives.
The session served as a meaningful platform for broadening students’ understanding of global education systems and helped them recognize the importance of preparing learners for an interconnected and evolving world.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Global Citizenship Club of Pillai College of Education and Research organized a meaningful classroom activity for F.Y.B.Ed. students on 9th March 2026. The celebration was inspired by the spirit of the United Nations theme for International Women’s Day, focusing on empowerment, equality, inclusion, and collective progress.
The activity aimed to encourage students to understand that true empowerment lies not in competition, but in collaboration, mutual respect, and uplifting one another. Through discussions and reflections, students explored the importance of creating supportive spaces where women motivate and inspire each other to grow personally and professionally. A thoughtful initiative by the student council, who distributed greeting cards for exchanging wishes and appreciation, added warmth and positivity to the celebration. Teacher educators shared inspiring experiences and stories of women who made a difference in their lives through strength, resilience, leadership, and compassion. Students actively participated by expressing gratitude towards the women who shaped their journeys, including mothers, teachers, friends, and mentors. The activity created an atmosphere of unity, appreciation, and sisterhood, reminding everyone that empowered women have the ability to empower communities and bring meaningful social change. The celebration beautifully reflected the vision of the Global Citizenship Club by promoting values of equality, empathy, collaboration, and global solidarity among future educators.
