Learning German: A Step Towards Global Communication

As part of its mission to promote cross-cultural awareness and multilingual appreciation, the Global Citizenship Club initiated an introductory session on the German language, led by Ms. Chaitali Kudmate, student editor of the college magazine. Conducted during the morning assembly, the session aimed to spark interest in global languages and help student-teachers recognize the significance of linguistic diversity in building global connections.

Ms. Chaitali began by introducing the students to the basics of German, including commonly used greetings, polite expressions, numbers, and telling the time. The session was interactive, with students enthusiastically repeating and practicing phrases. What began as a one-time session has now evolved into an ongoing language initiative, where Ms. Chaitali continues to share new vocabulary and everyday conversational words regularly. This enriching experience is helping students step beyond their linguistic comfort zones and embrace the spirit of global citizenship.

This activity aimed to show how mathematical thinking plays a vital role not just in academics, but also in making informed decisions as responsible global citizens.

The classroom was transformed into a space of interactive learning, where students participated in logic puzzles, brain teasers, and number games that encouraged problem-solving, collaboration, and quick thinking. These activities fostered 21st-century skills such as critical thinking and teamwork—essential for navigating global issues. Certificates were distributed toall participants, celebrating their involvement.
