
A Self-Defense Workshop was conducted by the Women’s Development Cell at PCER, Panvel on 13th July, 2024. The workshop was designed to equip students with essential skills and techniques to enhance their personal safety and build self-confidence in various situations. The session was led by trained professionals who demonstrated a variety of self-defense techniques, including basic physical moves, awareness strategies, and safety tips. The students actively participated in practical exercises, learning how to protect themselves from threats and emergencies. The workshop not only focused on physical techniques but also emphasized the importance of mental preparedness, assertiveness, and situational awareness in preventing attacks. The event aimed to empower students, instilling a sense of security and self-assurance. The workshop successfully contributed to promoting the safety and empowerment of students, aligning with the Women’s Development Cell’s ongoing efforts to foster a supportive and secure environment

A Guest Lecture on Financial Literacy was organized by the Women Development Cell of PCER, Panvel on 21st September 2024. The session was conducted by Mr. A. Sheth, who provided a comprehensive roadmap for investing savings to achieve compound growth, proper asset allocation across mutual funds and public provident funds, and effective risk mitigation strategies. The lecture covered topics such as financial literacy, compound interest, financial discipline, Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), risks associated with share market investments, and an overview of the BSE, NSE, and various types of mutual funds. Additionally, the session emphasized the benefits of a long-term investment outlook, helping young student-teachers understand how small, consistent investments can grow into a substantial retirement corpus over time.

On 4th October 2024, the F.Y.B.Ed. student-teachers of PCER organized a street play on ‘Gender Equality’ at the NMMT Bus Stand and Jeevan Jyoti Trust in Old Panvel. The play focused on pressing issues such as domestic abuse, dowry, pay disparity, and sexual harassment. Both performances attracted significant public attention, with the second location notably sparking an engaging discussion among local women. The initiative was well-received and appreciated by the audience for its bold message and impactful presentation, leaving a lasting impression on the community.

The International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence at PCER, Panvel on 8th March, 2025. The session was conducted by Ms. Manju Vinish for F.Y.B.Ed. and S.Y.B.Ed. The event aimed to honour the achievements of women, promote gender equality, and inspire future educators to play a proactive role in women’s empowerment. A highlight of the event was a talk that expressed appreciation for the contributions of women in all walks of life. Students also emphasized the importance of education and leadership in transforming the status of women in society. The celebration served not only as a tribute to women’s strength and resilience but also as a reminder of the ongoing journey toward equality and empowerment.
An essay competition on the theme “Women Education in India” was organized at PCER, Panvel on 21st March. B.Ed. trainees actively participated, expressing their views on the importance, challenges, and progress of women’s education in India. The competition aimed to promote awareness and critical thinking among future educators. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners, who were awarded certificates for their insightful and thought-provoking essays. The competition was well-organized, fostering a deeper understanding of the critical role of education in empowering women.
