A Women’s Day Celebration was organized by Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur in Association with Pillai University on 23rd February 2026 at Pillai Campus, Conclave 1, 3rd Floor, Panvel. The program was conducted from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and aimed to recognize and celebrate contributions towards women’s empowerment. The highlight of the event was the felicitation of Dr. Nandita Shah, Co-Founder and Co-Director of Akshara Foundation. She was honored with the Soroptimist Excellence Award in recognition of her significant work towards promoting women’s empowerment and social change. The session ended on an inspiring note, reinforcing the importance of continued efforts towards gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Student-teachers performed street plays at two locations in Panvel—Old Panvel ST Bus-Depot and near Jeevan Jyoti Trust Centre. The street plays focused on important social issues such as Gender Equality and Elder Abuse. The play focused on pressing issues such as domestic abuse, dowry, pay disparity, and sexual harassment. Both performances attracted significant public attention, with the second location notably sparking an engaging discussion among local women. The initiative was well-received and appreciated by the audience for its bold message and impactful presentation, leaving a lasting impression on the community.

The college hosted a Conference to address inclusivity, empowerment, and social equity in collaboration with Soroptimist International Bombay, Chembur. The sessions highlighted SDG-5 which encouraged student-teachers to promote gender equality and respect.

The Women Development Cell along with the Anti-Ragging Cell of the college celebrated Anti-Ragging Awareness Week from 12th to 18th August, 2025. During the week, activities such as poster making, logo designing, and quizzes were conducted to raise awareness and reinforce the institution’s commitment to a ragging-free campus.

A session on the i-Like Courses was conducted for student-teachers by Mr. Vishwas Mate, academic head from MKCL. The session focused on enhancing digital learning and self-paced education through exposure to modern teaching tools, online platforms, and digital pedagogies which will enable women to upgrade their skills & knowledge.

The Women Development Cell along with the Well-Being Club of PCER, New Panvel celebrated International Yoga Day. Teaching, non-teaching staff, and students participated in the event, practicing asanas and pranayama to promote physical and mental well-being.
