Women Development Cell of PCER organised an online session on counselling and importance of counselling on 1st August, 2023 by Ms. Yvette Lee. The main objective of this session was to educate students about the importance and benefits of counselling and to help the female students in solving their personal, educational, social as well as psychological problems.

Women development cell celebrated an International Girl Child’s Day on 11th October, 2023 to raising awareness about the issues girls face and advocating for their rights. An interactive activity was conducted to express gratitude and appreciation for girls. The event featured cultural performances, including a dance and music segment, highlighting the strength and resilience of girls.

On 14th January, 2024, Women’s Development cell organized a session on “Mental Health” for the students and staff of PCER, Panvel. Ms. Yvette Lee, a renowned mental health advocate and educator, has dedicated her career to raising awareness about mental health issues, emphasizing its importance for overall well-being. She defines mental health as a state of well-being where individuals can realize their potential, cope with stress, work productively, and contribute to their community. Her comprehensive approach includes education, advocacy, and collaboration, leading to increased understanding, reduced stigma, and improved mental health services. Her efforts have profoundly impacted individuals and communities, serving as a model for effective mental health advocacy and inspiring positive change.

A Session on “Financial Awareness” was organised on 5th January, 2024 by Women’s development cell of Pillai College of Education and Research, Panvel. The objective of the session was to make the female students, teaching and non-teaching staff learn and understand the financial literacy, setting the financial goals and reducing financial stress. The speaker of the session was Mr Yuvraj Sin Desai who is working in SEBI. The speaker adds the online and offline mode of opening account and strategies to invest in stock markets and commodities. He introduced the app SARTHI by SEBI which is built to empower the investors with knowledge about securities market. Overall, It was a really informative session altogether.
